Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

I would like to share with you a little bit about three things that God is doing in Paraguay...

First of all, please let us thank you for all your prayers. As we work in Paraguay Lisa and I are very aware that the opportunities that we have to share the gospel are a result of your prayers! Thank you so much.

Please allow me to share three amazing stories (and prayer requests):

1. A number of weeks ago Adrian and Miriam began coming to Mi Esperanza. About three weeks ago, Adrian placed his trust in Christ. Now, I meet with them both weekly and we study the Bible together!! This past week, they asked me to pray for their friend, Carlitos, who is going through a rough time in his life. Miriam told me that she cried when Carlitos told her that he had a "whole in his life." Miriam told him about Jesus and invited him to church. He came this past Sunday. Please pray that God would fill the emptiness in Carlito's life and the Miriam and Adrian would continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

2. On Wednesday (9/2), we begin the first of a 4 part series in the Public Middle School. We will be teaching the 7th grade class (41 students) for one hour, every other Wednesday. We have decided to talk about "our Identity." The plan is to start this week with an introduction to the topic, then move into talking about things we do to find our identity. In the 3rd session, we will talk about why it is hard to find our identity (sin), and then finally we will talk about how Jesus bought us a new identity in Him. Of course, we will share the gospel every chance we get. Please pray. Please pray that the kids would listen and follow along. Please pray for Rodrigo, Adrian and I to connect well with the students. Please pray that there would be distractions. And please pray that the mighty hand of God would quiet the spiritual forces that would try to stop this amazing opportunity. We will be teaching from 9:40-10:45 am (EST).

3. Today, I went into the school to talk through the details of the series that I mentioned above with the Director of the school. She mentioned to me that our talk about "spirituality" is a part of a self-improvement series that she is giving including talks on not using drugs, smoking, violence and eventually a talk on sex. She told me that she wanted to teach a seminar on why it is a good idea to save sex until marriage. I told her that I knew a great skit that would be perfect to introduce her topic. Five minutes later... she asked me to not only come in and do the skit, but to bring in others to give testimonies and gave me 1/2 hour to preach about Biblical Reasons to Save Sex for Marriage. Then she said... why don't you come in on Friday, Sept 18 and share this talk with the entire school!!! How cool is our God!?! Would you please start praying now that we will find the right people to share testimonies and that I would be able to talk on the beauty of sex as God intended.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

Please pray for God's power to be seen in and through our lives. It is our desire that we would be faithful in pointing people to HIM and that the students at the school would turn their lives completely over to Jesus.

Please also pray for Adrian and Miriam's growth and that Carlito will allow Jesus to have control of his life.
