Stombaugh Update - April 2015

Dear Friends,
Our God is a creative God. He uses different means to reach different people. We
must always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we discern how we can reach those He divinely places in our path. How can we give them access to the gospel? This was evident once again as Al and Tim Crouch recently made their “tour” of Africa. We are reaching people through music, through radio, with medical teams, through fish
farming, by reaching out to the disenfranchised, through community centers, through teaching English, by digging wells, by providing agricultural training, and by teaching
mechanics courses and cooking classes. The list goes on and on. May God continue to shed His light on this dark continent as we give access to the gospel to the least
reached peoples. It was very encouraging to see what God is doing in Africa. In 11 days they visited 11 teams, 8 cities, and 5 countries! It was a joy and privilege to introduce Tim to our region of the world. We know many of you were praying for this important trip. Thank you!!

Al recently returned from a trip to Europe. He first made a visit to the Spronk family in Albertville
France. The Spronks are studying French for a year before heading to Mali to serve at the Koutiala hospital. While in France Al was able to experience the beautiful Alps. The crisp clean white cold snow was definitely in contrast to the sandy dusty humid
climate of Senegal. Following Al’s visit with the Spronks, he continued on to Mosback Germany. Al serves on the governing board for Mobile Member Care Team of West Africa. He participated in a week of board meetings there. What a blessing this ministry is in serving those in our region who are dealing with crisis, loss and grief.

We just completed a week of meetings here in Senegal with our four team developer couples on Friday. We always look forward to these times of praying, strategizing and seeking God’s vision for the continent of Africa. It was a good and profitable week together.

On May 3 we fly to the United States to attend Josh’s graduation. Josh graduates on May
9th. We are excited that grandma and grandpa Walker will also be able to attend their first grandchild’s graduation. We hope to see many of you while we are in the states and during the week of council (May 26-31). We will return to Senegal on June 20th. Please be in prayer for the general council of the Christian and Missionary Alliance which will be held in Long Beach California . Much prayer, time, and energy has gone into preparing this week. We are very excited for what God has planned for us as we come together and seek his face as a denomination. May there be an eternal impact as a result of our time together.

Finally we want congratulate parents Eric and Wendy Hofman on the arrival of our newest
member to the region, Hannah Marie!! The Hofmans serve at our Bongolo hospital.

Grateful for each of you!! Lauralyn and Al

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

Praise:

Our son Joshua has been hired by an engineering firm in Dallas, TX and our daughter Kayla has been accepted into the nursing program at Piedmont College, Demorest GA. We are so grateful to the Lord for providing for our two adult children.

The Lord miraculously granted a permit for our center in Long Beach!

Prayer:

Please continue to pray for the Ebola situation here in West Africa. Pray that the spread of this disease would be stopped. Pray for those who are sick and who have lost loved ones. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with many who have been touched by the affects of Ebola. Pray for those who are helping to educate people about the disease and for our International Workers from Guinea who have strategically withdrawn from their places of ministry for a period of 6-8 months.

Pray for the upcoming General Council in Long Beach, CA.

Pray for us as we travel to the US for meetings and some time with our children from May 3-June 20th.
