Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
At the beginning of this new year, we take time to reflect and look back over the past months here in Mali. God has once again amazed us with His power and glory as we see all that HE has done. Here are just a few highlights:
We sense that this is God’s time for Mali as NEVER before! Many villages which were previously closed to the gospel are opening up and inviting us to come and share the good news of Jesus Christ!
The dream of entering the town of Segou has become a reality! We know that many of you have been praying with us about this. In
January the Longs moved to Segou. This month the De Waaijs arrive and will join them this summer after 6 months of language study here in Bamako.
The work will be difficult and we covet your prayers for our team of workers who will join
these two couples over the coming months.
This is an exciting time for radio in Mali! John Stirzaker from our home church in Marietta, GA, recently became involved in this ministry by organizing a non-profit ministry called God’s Mighty Voice. Recently John came to Mali and was
able to travel with Al to visit most of our radio
stations and meet with the directors of these
stations. Concrete plans are being put into place
to improve the conditions of the existing stations
and to create new stations in places such as Segou where the need is great! Please continue to pray for this ministry. You can read more about this at www.godsmightyvoice.org .
God continues to expand and bless the ministries at the Koutiala Women’s & Children’s Hospital. In January the final building was completed and the big move was made from the old facilities to the new!! This provides much more room for the surgeries and patient care. What an incredible
group of men and women God has placed at our hospital to show Christ’s love hurting people.
We praise the Lord for the number of students enrolled at Bethel Bible Institute this year.
The number surpassed expectations. After a period of time where few leaders were being
trained, how exciting to see a desire in the lives of these young men to prepare themselves to lead the church here in Mali. Pray for these students, that God would guard them close to Himself and provide for their every need.
On a personal note...
We are so grateful for how God has provided for our children this year. Thanks for praying for
our kids! Josh is having a great year at Letourneau University studying civil engineering. Kayla is also doing very well at Dakar Academy.
Alexis will turn 4 in April and is a delight
to us! What a joy it was to have Josh and Kayla home for Christmas!!
We want to thank each of you
for your faithful words of encouragement and prayer support this year. God is doing miracles here in Mali and we are privileged to serve Him
here.
with much appreciation, Al Lauralyn Josh Kayla and Alexis

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—in our denomination, in our churches, and in our individual lives.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This central funding vehicle allows our international workers to focus on ministry rather than raising financial support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to participate in a short-term missions trip and experience missions work firsthand? We’re here to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
