Al and Lauralyn Stombaugh
Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
Stombaugh Update
July 2008
We praise the Lord for His help during our recent transition from Gabon. Our family came home suddenly in December due to complications with Lauralyn’s pregnancy. We enjoyed a special Christmas with family here in Toccoa. Josh returned to Dakar Academy and Al and Kayla returned to Gabon shortly after New Year’s. We thank you for praying for us during the long months of separation while Lauralyn remained on bed rest here in the states.
In two and a half months Al was able to sell all of our things, pack up our house, finish the construction of the bookstore/residence, as well as turn over the administration details as field director before coming home the end of March.
We praise the Lord for answering prayer concerning the birth of our third child, Alexis Mae. Lauralyn was on bed rest from December until April. Alexis Mae was born April 29th and was perfectly healthy.
We will be in Toccoa for our year of Home Assignment. September 15 Al will leave for tour. He will be in the New England district as well as the Great Lakes District.
Josh and Kayla will be attending Oconee Christian School in Seneca, SC. Thank you for praying for Josh during this first year of boarding at Dakar Academy. He had a WONDERFUL year and we thank the Lord for the spiritual and personal growth we have seen in him.
We are looking forward to our new assignment to Mali. We will be leaving for Mali at the end of this year. We have a real peace that this is where God wants us to serve following home assignment. Thank you for praying for us as we sought God’s leading in regards to our next place of service.
We covet your prayers and look forward to seeing many of you this year.
Love,
Al, Lauralyn, Josh, Kayla and Alexis

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
