1 Serving together with you for His Kingdom
Graduations
Bryce Jonathan Thompson graduated from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media, on May 4, 2013. Judy enjoyed her time celebrating with Bryce, and she also had the privilege of being with Kyle, his wife Tiffany, and their son Alex. Even Grandma and Grandpa Thompson joined the group. We are so thankful that so many family members were able to be together for Bryce’s special event, and we feel most blessed that he has completed his undergraduate career. God has been good to the Thompson family.
Black Forest Academy, founded in 1956 as an international school for the children of families in mission ministry, celebrated the graduation of over 60 seniors comprising the class of 2013. Although June 14th dawned cool and somewhat dreary, rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of the friends and family who filled the school auditorium to capacity. Our graduates will be attending universities in the United States, Canada, Germany, and Korea. Pray for these students as they take their next steps in the world.
Other News
The worst floods since 1972 ravaged the Kandern area during the last week of May. The heavy rains caused high water all over the local area and later raised water in major rivers, including the Danube farther to the east. In Kandern, our little river – the Kander – came close to overflowing its banks near the back of the school. BFA students observed the high water from near the school auditorium, where the water flowed less than inches beneath the bridge. We thank the Lord that He not only protected our school but also the entire town of Kandern.

2 Serving together with you for His Kingdom
Home assignment begins on July 1st as Wayne and Judy wing their way back to the USA after eleven years in Germany, all of them at Black Forest Academy. It is our privilege to minister this year in our home district of Western PA. What will living in Pennsylvania be like after so many years abroad? What changes will we find in America? We still speak the language, but we probably don’t speak the culture any longer. Even as we make the transition, we would appreciate your prayers. God is good; we embrace Him and trust Him for the days ahead. Step by step and day by day. Is there really any other way to walk?
