Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

Thank you for supporting and praying for those of us serving God here in Venezuela. In the midst of uncertain times and constant change, it is encouraging to remember that God is in control and He never changes. His desire is that all would come to know Him in a personal way through Jesus Christ.

I returned to Venezuela last June after a short home assignment and tour. I am grateful to God for the opportunity to touch base with many of you and to meet others in churches there for the first time. Once again, it was a privilege to share with you how your prayers have and continue to make a difference around the world.

These past few months have been a time of trying to keep my head above water as I teach and serve with our Alliance Bible institute. I am again reconnected to the world of cyberspace and will work at keeping in touch with you.

If we are going to meet the challenges of this next year, we desperately need your prayer support. Thank you for partnering with me/us in the work in Venezuela.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

1. Thank you for praying for an apartment for me to rent. Please continue to pray as I have received notice that the owner of this apartment intends to sell it. The rental market here is virtually closed. This continues to be a challenge for all mission personnel here.

2. Thank the Lord for new students in our leadership development program from several of our churches. PRAY for the three missionary profs as we face the challenge of mentoring and keeping up with the classroom demands of approximately 65 students in three cities.

3. Pray for an adequate place to hold our annual spiritual retreat on February 23 to 25. Our speaker will be a pastor from Puerto Rico. Pray with us as we will be focusing on Philippians 2:5-8.

4. Pray for our education team as we "think forward" in these next days as to how to best meet the needs and continuing challenges of the situation here.

5. Pray for the next generation of Alliance leaders, our young adult men and women, who will need to be creative and visionary in order to lead our churches forward with Christ. Pray that God will pour out His Spirit on them in new and fresh ways.

6. Pray for our Venezuelan pastors and their families as the stresses of ministry and daily life never end. Pray for God to refresh them through His Word and prayer.

7. Pray with us as we envision and work on building a prayer movement among our students, churches, and in connections with the churches in other countries.

8. Thank God with us as He continues to work in hearts and lives of His servants here to accomplish His purposes and to transform us into the image of Christ.

Thank YOU for praying!

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.

Give.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.

Serve.

Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
