Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

August 2009

Dear Friends,

God is faithful, and it is a real privilege to serve the Lord as missionaries with The Christian and Missionary Alliance in the country of Mali in West Africa.

It is an exciting time to work in Mali and to see so many ministries growing and to experience what God is doing and to join him there.

The Bamako Ministry Center for professionals and university students is more and more becoming a reality.

The Koutiala Women's and Children's Hospital continues to show God's compassion and mercy daily and many are hearing about Jesus and his love for them.

Evangelism and discipleship continues among unreached peoples such as the disenfranchised of Mali in prisons and among street women. The Gana and Bozo peoples are being reached through the clear presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The nine christian FM radio stations are faithfully airing programs that present Jesus and his love, as well as teaching for children, women, community health and development, and programs to help new believers grow in their faith.

There is the exciting possibility of the Koutiala Youth Ministry Center to reach high school young people through sports activities, youth rallies, and a study center and cybercafe.

And God continues to use Bethel Bible Institute and other church training facilities to train pastors and lay leaders to reach the people of Mali.

We praise God for what He is doing, and we count it a privilege to be a part of the church/mission team that is faithfully ministering to the lost and needy peoples of Mali.

We are settled in Newton, Iowa for our six-month home assignment, and we are enjoying a very comfortable home and we are blessed with so many friends at Community Heights Alliance Church. Tim will be touring in the Mid-America District this Fall and is looking forward to connecting again with so many of you who have faithfully prayed for us, and so many of you who have given to the Great Commission Fund so that we can continue to minister in Mali, and so that the many ministries can advance. Thank you so much, and may our God richly bless you for your prayers and for your investment in our ministry.

Please feel free to write us. Our Home Assignment address is: 601 E 12th St Pl N, Newton, Iowa, 50208. You can also call us. Our home phone number is 641-352-4583, and our cell phone number is 641-275-2619. We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions about our ministry, we are always happy to share with you what God is doing. And we count it a privilege to be partners together with you for the Kingdom.

Gratefully,

The Wrights

Tim, Bev, Joel, and Jonathan

May God bless you for your faithfulness to Him and to His work.

Tim and Bev Wright

2. Pray for Bev as she maintains a home in Newton, and takes care of Jonathan while Tim is on tour. Pray that she will also have good opportunities to speak in local churches and women's meetings. Pray for wisdom, protection and good health.

3. Pray for Jonathan who just started his last year of high school. He will do half of his senior year in the United States, and then return to Dakar Academy in January of 2010 to finish and graduate. Pray that God will give him clear direction as to his future and where he should attend college.

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.

Give.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.

Serve.

Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
