Chaplain Ministry
Chaplain Missionaries are essentially ministers of God who are called to serve in places that traditionally ministries do not or cannot reach.
All Alliance chaplains are licensed workers of The Christian and Missionary Alliance and include both men and women. After licensing, ordination or consecration, and in preparation for placement in a chaplaincy position, individuals must apply to be endorsed by The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Endorsement is the method to inform various institutions that the chaplain is fully qualified to serve as an Alliance Chaplain. This also provides assurance of continuing accountability.
Alliance Chaplains provide and perform a full range of ministerial services to the institutions they serve. Chaplains preach and teach the Word of God, are certified to administer the ordinances of the church, to include the Lord's Supper and Baptism, and may officiate at weddings (subject to state laws) and funerals. Chaplains visit places where their people work, visit in homes, hospitals and in nursing homes. Spiritual counseling is a major responsibility as chaplains endeavor to meet the needs of their “flock” by bringing God's truth to bear in a wide arena of interpersonal needs.
